In high school, Dr. Uhrik competed in both track and soccer. Unfortunately, he suffered multiple injuries during the course of his athletic career, which caused significant pain and limited his movement. It was through rehab and strength training that Dr. Uhrik regained proper joint function and decreased pain. This experience led him to pursue a career in physical medicine. After a severe ankle injury during an intermural soccer game in college, Dr. Uhrik first underwent chiropractic care. It was during that episode of care; Dr. Uhrik realized the benefits of chiropractic care and decided to pursue a doctorate in chiropractic.
Dr. Matt Uhrik earned his undergraduate degree in Business Management from the University of South Florida. He then attended National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL where he received his doctorate. In 2016, he earned his Master’s Degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Western States in Portland, OR.
Dr. Uhrik furthered his education by additional certifications to better serve his patients, including the following:
• 100 Hour Acupuncture Certification
• 200 Hour Advanced Acupuncture Certification
• Facial Cosmetic Acupuncture Certification
• Titleist Performance Institute Medical 2 Certified
• FAKTR (Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab) Instrument assisted soft-tissue mobilization (IASTM)
• MOTUS Kinesiotaping Certification
Becoming a chiropractor gave Dr. Uhrik the most autonomy in practice, by opening doors as a direct access physician. Dr. Uhrik utilizes a joint-by-joint approach, not only looking at the area of pain, but at the body as a whole. This approach helps determine patient needs and pinpoints the cause and solution to pain and movement dysfunctions.
Dr. Uhrik is a Florida transplant, growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, IL. He is married to wife of 7 years, Sarah Uhrik, Esq., who is a dually licensed attorney in Clermont. Together they have a beautiful daughter, Ramona. In his free time, he likes to stay active with running, cycling and weightlifting, camping, traveling, going to concerts, working on his struggling golf game and spending quality time with his wife and daughter.
